STORY
There’s a precision in vipers that borders on artistry. This one with vibrant green, eyes fixed, mouth slightly open, seemed sculpted by shadow and intent. I found it poised in a shaft of filtered light, curling mid-air like a symbol. The background fell away, lost to darkness, and what remained was form: the arc of the neck, the glint in the eye, the fine scales lit with purpose. The green viper is a reptile with plenty of energy and vigour, but surprisingly harmless. I love photographing these little reptiles in the rainforests of Ecuador as they're full of character and utterly captivating in the right light. There was no aggression in this posture, just potential. A reminder that presence can be powerful without noise. I kept the frame tight and clean. No environment, no distraction. Just the viper and its quiet authority.
