STORY

Few animals wear colour with as much boldness as the red-eyed tree frog. I spotted this one during an early evening walk through the Ecuadorian rainforest. It was mid-climb, each fluorescent toe pad lit like embers against the moss-dark branch. The frog moved with slow precision, its limbs folding and unfolding like a jungle ballet. I’ve always admired their surreal palette - green back, blue flanks, orange limbs, and those unmistakable red eyes. They look like they’ve been painted by a child who had access to every crayon and no rules. The black backdrop here is natural with the deep shadows of the forest just after sunset. I let the frog’s colours carry the story. No distractions. Just nature’s own neon, moving toward the canopy.
