STORY

Whilst in a hide in Botswana, I watched as this elephant and her very young son walked toward the waterhole. Dust lifted with each deliberate step as she led him forward, her ears fanned wide in quiet authority. The morning light carved sharp contrasts across her weathered skin, each crease a story of survival, of wisdom passed through generations. He followed closely, his small frame shadowed by her immense presence, yet his curiosity shone through in every hesitant movement. In the wild, there is no greater bond than that of a mother and her young an unspoken promise of protection, of lessons whispered through the rhythm of their stride. As I knelt behind the lens, I could feel the weight of that connection. This wasn’t just a photograph; it was a moment of trust, a glimpse into a world where love is measured in the distance walked together.
