The light was fading when I came across this zebra quartet on the open plains. They stood as if posing, two still, one twitching its tail, and one mid-yawn or perhaps mid-laugh. That little flash of expression was enough to transform the moment from a typical wildlife scene into something deeply human. There’s a rhythm in the way zebras move together, a quiet synchrony interrupted only by brief gestures of individuality. That’s what I loved about this image - the balance between formation and personality. These animals are often photographed for their patterns, but I’m always drawn to their behaviour.
